What every student can do.

Analyse a real AI safety question with rigour

Distinguishing speculation from evidence, hype from genuine concern, and motivated reasoning from honest analysis.

Evaluate AI regulations and policies

Against real-world tradeoffs — reading primary-source legal text, not summaries.

Identify and reason about specific AI risks

Bias, deepfakes, surveillance, misuse — with the depth of an informed citizen, not a partisan.

Construct balanced arguments on contested AI questions

Holding two positions in mind at once — the habit of mind that survives a polarised debate.

Write an original policy proposal or governance framework

With the rigour a journalist, policy professional, or informed citizen would bring to the work.
